Four Design Links:
July 15, 2010
Four Design Links is a review of the design- and ethics-related stories we've been reading online this week. This week: color wheels, creativity, the history of Comic Sans, and 365 days of Less.
1. Old-Fashioned Color Wheels
Imprint is running a history of color wheels. Part one is out, featuring the 18th and 19th century. The contrast between the Victorian layouts and bright colors is almost too much. To my eye, they don’t look 200-plus years old.
2. Time Magazine on Creativity
Even if you’re not interested in the subject of the article (that Americans are becoming less creative), I found it to be a good summary of what we know about creativity.
3. The History of Comic Sans
Comic Sans is the typeface that won’t die. This WSJ story is too damn interesting not to post.
4. A Lifestyle of Less
Randy Reddig is simplifying his life, one day at a time:
Starting July 1, and every day for a year, I will get rid of something. I will donate, discard, re-gift or recycle some bit of debris accumulating in my house. Anything non-perishable considered, exempting books and music.

You're reading BlogLESS, a thrice-weekly blog about the ethics of advertising, branding, design, social media and business. We are also fans of zen, although this itself is perhaps not so zen.
